Early-Career Researchers’ Workshops

 

Prof. Sender Dovchin (Curtin University, WA) and Prof. Laura Rascaroli (University College Cork, Ireland) will each offer a complimentary workshop for early-career researchers and interested colleagues. Venue details will be confirmed shortly.

Prof. Sender’s workshop will take place before the conference on Wednesday, 29 November 2023, 11am-12.30pm, followed by a light lunch. Prof. Dovchin will explore with participants the following topic: Critical Inquiries in Qualitative Methodologies.

Prof. Rascaroli’s workshop will take place after the conference on Monday, 4 December 2023, 11am-12.30pm, followed by a light lunch. Prof. Rascaroli’s topic will be the city essay film. After introducing her topic, Prof. Rascaroli will touch on examples, both historical and contemporary, to explore how film/video “think” the city, emphasising aspects such as historical memory, architecture and heritage, modernity, and displacement/migration. An interactive discussion will follow regarding selected film sequences.
